THE STORY BEHIND THE ARTISTS FOUNDRY
THE STORY BEHIND THE ARTISTS FOUNDRY
The Artists Foundry began with two people who believed artists deserved more support with the business side of building an art career.
Atalanta Kirk was a driving force behind bringing that idea to life. Her knowledge of the art world, years of experience working with artists, and instinct for what artists genuinely need helped shape The Artists Foundry from the very beginning.
Her perspective influenced how we approached everything from career strategy and professional presentation to the way we worked with artists as individuals rather than trying to fit them into a formula. The Artists Foundry would not have become what it is without her.
As Atalanta now focuses on her own art career, her influence remains part of the foundation we built together.
I continue The Artists Foundry with that same core belief: artists should not have to figure out every part of the business side of their careers alone.
I am a working artist myself, so I understand firsthand how much of an art career happens outside the studio. There are shows to prepare for, galleries to approach, websites and marketing to maintain, collectors to stay connected with, opportunities to evaluate, and constant decisions about where your time, energy, and money are best spent.
That perspective shapes how I work with artists. I help visual artists make thoughtful decisions, present their work professionally, and build the practical systems, materials, relationships, and marketing support that help sustain a career over time.
My approach is practical and collaborative. There is no single path to building an art career, and the strategy should reflect the work, the goals, and the person behind it.
The Artists Foundry has entered a new chapter, but the foundation remains the same: thoughtful guidance, professional support, and genuine respect for the artist, the work, and the career they are building.
Our Mission
The mission of The Artists Foundry is to help visual artists build stronger, more sustainable careers through practical guidance and professional support for the business side of being an artist.
From career strategy and marketing to galleries, websites, collector communication, and professional materials, the goal is to help artists make thoughtful decisions, pursue the right opportunities, and spend more of their time creating the work that matters to them.
OUR VISION
The Artists Foundry believes artists should be able to build meaningful careers without feeling like they have to figure out every part of the business alone.
The vision is to create a trusted source of guidance, hands-on support, and professional perspective that can grow with an artist’s career while respecting that every artist, every body of work, and every path is different.
